Ride from Thamel- Budhanilkantha

We’ll meet shortly after early morning breakfast at the hotel and load our bikes and gears for exciting day bike riding. We’ll use the local highway to reach Budhanilakantha. Around 30 minutes, we’ll reach there.

Budhanilkantha is situated on the northern side of the Kathmandu Valley and downhill from the Shivapuri Hill. It is one of the holy Hindu temples in Nepal where Lord Vishnu’s statue is laying on a small pond. Though, we visit few minutes over there, we have exciting and adventurous places ahead.

Budhanilkantha- Nagi Gumba

Leaving Budhanilakantha, we ride uphill towards Nagi Gumba- a famous Buddhist monastery from where we can see fantastic views of the Valley and Himalayas. It is located on the eastern side of the Shivapuri National Park.

After 10 minutes riding from Budhanilkantha, we reach the entrance point of Shivapuri National Park where we have to take permission from the concerned office for biking around Shivapuri National Park.

Then, we’ll follow a semi-easy trail from the woodlands of Shivapuri National Park. After riding for around 15 minutes, we will reach Nagi Gumba, situated at the height of 1650 m from sea level.

It offers us panoramic views of the Kathmandu valley. One can be fully relaxing and peaceful there. You can also see some monks who are meditating there.

After taking little rest in Mulkharka, we ride downhill to the small town of Sundarijal in less than an hour. Sundarijal, a famous waterfall of Kathmandu Valley, downhill from the Shivapuri National Park.
