Island peak is highly glaciated in its west face and its summit offers the best views of mountains in Everest region like Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Nuptse and many more. Kathmandu Airport Arrival (1345 meters).

You will be met and greeted with a traditional welcome by Travhill Representatives and be transferred to your hotel. A brief orientation along with the necessary documentation will be carried out by your guide. Overnight at Kathmandu

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, your tour around Kathmandu will commence where you will be accompanied by a guide of your lingual preference. The tour will include a visit to the following places:

  • Boudhhanath: A major Buddhist stupa located at the north eastern outskirts of Kathmandu.
  • Pashupatinath: The most revered temple by Hindus in Nepal, the temple carries a significance of mystical proportions and is a site to many important life events of Hindus.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: Durbar Square or the Palace Square is ancient courtyard the then Malla Kings of Kathmandu Valley which is abundant is breathtaking architecture.

Kathmandu-Lukla Flight(2,795m) and Trek to Phakding(2,610m)

You will be transferred from Hotel to Airport to catch an early morning, brief flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which will take around 30 minutes. From Lukla you will start your trek by walking northwards along the Dudh Kosi River Valley, and reach a village called Phakding, you will also pass a suspension bridge on your way. Nature’s scenery, vegetation and beauty will accompany you on your trek in this area and awaiting you will be the Snow capped majestic Himalayan peaks. Overnight stay at Phakding.

Phakding - Namche Bazaar Trek(3,440m)

This day, you will first walk across the river and to the village called Monjo. This is the actual entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. After taking care of all the formalities and ensuring your permits, you will start your trek which will be an upward trek. In this upward trek you will climb altitude of 1600 m to reach our destination for the day Namche Bazar. You can take the pace of this trek slow and immerse yourself in the scenery and beauty of  mountain summits as you move deeper  into the national Park.

Rest day at Namche Bazar

3440 m is a significant altitude for your physiology. Hence you will have to acclimatize and adapt to reduced oxygen levels. This is necessary for the management of risks of altitude sickness. You will be guided to identify symptoms of the sickness and the best adaptation techniques. Namche bazar is an interesting place so taking a rest day or hovering around the town, you can chose !  You can visiting places such as the famous Edmund Hillary School,Or the beautiful Everest View Hotel which provides the majestic view of the Mount Everest summit which can inspire for your upcoming trek or may be also for your lifetime. Namche Bazar- Khumjung (3,780m) - Dole Trek(4038m)

The trek from Namche Bazar to Khumjung will take around six hours where the it provides excellent views of Thamsekru, Kantega and Ama Dablam. Then on we descend towards Phortse Tenga and then ascend to our destination at Dole. You will be rewarded with some excellent views of the Himalayas along the way.

Dole-Machhermo Trek(4465m)

After breakfast we will commence our steep but equally rewarding climb through conifer and rhododendron forests as we make our way to Machhermo.

Machhermo-Gokyo Trek(5357 m)

On this day, we ascend through trails that are bestowed by beautiful skyline dominated by Mt Choyu. We will finally ascend past the largest of the lakes Dudh Pokhari to Gokyo.

Explore Gokyo Ri

The day will be spent exploring the majestic Gokyo Ri and the Gokyo Lakes.  The day will also be devoted to acclimatizing to local conditions.

Gokyo Ri Vantage Point-Thangna Trek(4500m)

An adventurous day ahead as we initially head to scale the vantage point of Gokyo Ri which provides majestic views of the Gokyo Lakes and other paraphernalia of mountains. Then on we descend towards Thangana also known as the base camp of Cho La Pass.

A strenuous trek awaits us today as we travel through steep  glaciers traverses. We initially climb through a narrow valley and rocky path from Phedi. After reaching Cho La Pass we descend steeply towards Dzonglha passing through pine forests and deep crevasses. The destination offers picturesque views of Mt Ama Dablam and Mt Cholatse among others.

Note: If the route gets blocked by snow fall, we will move down to Phortse village by walking 5-6 hours and stay overnight at Phortse. The next day, we will trek to Lobuche from Phortse for 6-7 hours. Overnight at Lobuche.

Dzonglha-Lobuche Trek

On this day, we will trek Lobuche which should take around five hours, where you will be rewarded with excellent views of Nuputse, Lhotse and Everest.

Lobuche-Gorakshep-Everest Base Camp Trek

Your trail will take you along the western edge of the Khumbu Glacier initially to the small settlement of Gorakshep. The walk continues northward along the edge of the glacier before arriving at the shattered jumble of ice and snow that is the main camp site for expedition parties attempting to summit Mount Everest. Then on we will return to our accommodation for the night at Gorakshep.

Gorakshep-Kalapatthar-Lobuche Trek

We will make an early morning trek to Kalapatthar from where you will be able to behold the best possible view of the Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Pumori, Mt Nuptse and other towering peaks. From Kalapatthar we will head towards Lobuche.

Lobuche-Chukkung Trek

Today we will trek from Lobuche to Chukkung descend along the Khumbu glacier and Kongma La which should be a scenic trek.

Note: If one cannot cross the Kongma La Trek, then one can move to Dingboche and have lunch. We can stay overnight at Dingboche  and early in the morning, one can trek to Chukkung.

Chukkung-Island Peak Base Camp Trek

On this day we will make a trek to the famous Isalnd Peak Base Camp where you will be serenaded with majestic sights of Nuptse, Lhotse and Pumori.

Island Peak Base Camp- Island Peak High Camp Trek

Today we make an arduous ascent to the Island Peak High Camp.

Scale Island Peak and Trek to Chukkung

Today we will scale the Island Peak which should be an exhilarating experience. After scaling the peak we will make a return trek to Chukkung.

Chukkung-Tengboche Trek

On this day, we will retrace our steps as we descend from Chukkung to Tengboche.

Tengboche- Namche Bazar Trek

A relatively easy trek ahead as we mostly descend for about 4 hours to reach Namche Bazar.

Namche Bazar- Lukla Trek

Today we will make a rapid descent of about four hours to reach Lukla. In Lukla, you will celebrate your trekking achievement with your guides with some local brews.

Note: If one’s age is above 60, then from Namche Bazar, we will trek to Phakding and stay overnight therein. Early in the morning, from Phakding we will trek to Lukla for 6-7 hours.

Flight from Lukla to back Kathmandu

You will be on an early flight back this morning, on arrival in Kathmandu you will be taken to your hotel.

Free Day in Kathmandu.

You will have the day to yourself to indulge in activities of your preference; perhaps collecting some souvenirs to take a small part of Nepal back home might tempt you.

Final Departure

Day 24 and you are ready to leave Nepal just to come back next time again to have another adventure trip. A representative from TravHill Dot Com will transfer to Airport for onward destination with sweet memories of Nepal. We will drop you to Kathmandu Airport 3 hours before your flight time.
