Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Upon Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, You will be met and greeted with a traditional welcome by TravHill representatives and be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome drink followed by orientation along with the necessary documentation will be carried out by your guide. Evening is free to explore as own. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast your tour around Kathmandu will commence where you will be accompanied by a guide of your lingual preference. The tour will include a visit to the following places:
  • Boudhanath: A major Buddhist stupa located at the north eastern outskirts of Kathmandu.
  • Pashupatinath: The most revered temple by Hindus in Nepal,the temple carries a significance of mystical proportions and is a site to many important life events of Hindus.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: Durbar Square or the Palace Square is ancient courtyard the then Malla Kings of Kathmandu Valley which is abundant is breathtaking architecture.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Lying 200km west of Kathmandu, Pokhara, also known as the lake city is one of the major tourist destinations of Nepal. You can ether drive or fly to Pokhara, where the duration by road normally takes 6-8 hours. Pokhara is also home to the Machhapuchre(fishtail) mountain which is located nearby the Annapurna mountain range.

Pokhara to Nayapool Drive & trek to Tikhedhunga

After breakfast, you drive towards Nayapul, which normally takes one and a half hour. From there on the first part of the trek commences. You travel through a number of small villages inhabited by people of Gurung ethnicity. You get a taste of the ethnic Gurung lifestyle.

Tikhedunga to Ghorepani

This part of the trek involves an initial steep ascent for about 2 hours after which the climb becomes much easier where you pass through Ulleri, Banthali and Magar villages. Then on you make a descent towards the final camp where a special New Year’s celebration will be set up. Celebrating amidst a sylvan setting adds a new color to the occasion.

Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani

Kick start the New Year with an early morning trip to Poon Hill to catch the first sunrise over mountains such as Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt Nilgiri and many others

Tadapani to Ghandruk

After breakfast you trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk which is a typical Gurung village famous for its traditional life style, ethnic handicraft and Gurung museum. From the village you can also catch a glimpse of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Gaganpurna and Fishtail mountain.

Ghandruk to Nayapool – Drive to Pokhara

After descending through Kimshe to Shaulo Bazaar, you will walk for about 30mins to Nayapul. From Nayapul you drive towars Pokhara on a taxi.

Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast you travel to Kathmandu from Pokhara either by bus or flight. After reaching Kathmandu, you have the day to yourself where you can indulge in collecting souvenirs to take back home.

Final departure

After Breakfast – free time till departure –  A representative from TravHill Dot Com will transfer to Airport for onward destination with sweet memories of Nepal. We will drop you to Kathmandu Airport 3 hours before your flight time.
