Located to the north of the Himalayan barrier in Tibet, Mount Kailash is as sacred a mountain as they come, the trip to Mount Kailash will take you in a meditative state like Lord Shiva himself.  Along with Mt. Kailash is the serene Lake Mansarovar which is another important site for the pilgrims who wish to cleanse their past sins by taking a dip in its pristine natural waters. Adding to that is the turquoise blue waters of Lake Mansarovar which provides some of the most picturesque view of the entire Tibet region as pilgrims can see as the water stretching out endlessly to the horizon and touch the diminishing hoary blue sky.

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Katmandu

You will be met and greeted with a traditional welcome by our representatives and be transferred to your hotel. A brief orientation along with the necessary documentation will be carried out by your guide.

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast your tour around Kathmandu will commence where you will be accompanied by a guide of your lingual preference. The tour will include a visit to the following places:
  • Bouddhanath: A major Buddhist stupa located at the north eastern outskirts of Kathmandu.
  • Pashupatinath: The most revered temple by Hindus in Nepal, the temple carries a significance of mystical proportions and is a site to many important life events of Hindus.
  • Swayambhunath: Sitting atop a hill, it is the most prominent Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal and is one of many sites of Nepal included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: Durbar Square or the Palace Square is ancient courtyard the then Malla Kings of Kathmandu Valley which is abundant is breathtaking architecture.

Travel from Kathmandu to Nyalam

After breakfast, our travel to Nyalam will commence. We first head towards Friendship Bridge, situated in Nepal –China border, where we will be given brief orientation by our Chinese guides. From there, we will proceed towards Zangmu, where we will go through immigration formalities. We then proceed towards Nyalam.

A day of acclimatization at Nyalam

We will spend the entire day at Nyalam acclimatizing with local conditions to prepare for the days ahead.

Nyalam-Saga drive

On this day we will drive from Nyalam to Saga where along the way, the sight of nomads with their herds should keep you amused.

Saga / Dongba to Paryang / Chui Gompa

The drive to Paryang/ Chui Gompa is another exciting rides as we pass through wide valleys, rocky peaks and catch a glimpse of yaks and sheep grazing.

Paryang-Manasarovar Drive

After a long drive today, we will catch the first sight of the Holy Kaislash Mountain and Lake Manasarovar by late afternoon. On the remaining part of the day, you may also devote yourself in some pooja and hawan.

Mansarovar-Drachen Drive

After indulging in some act of reverence in the initial part of the day, we will then drive towards Drachen, which should take around two and half hours.

Drachen-Diraphuk Trek

This day marks the first day of Kailash Parikrama. After breakfast, we will have to walk for about 6-7 hours where we will traverse beautiful rocky cliffs, waterfall and much more.

Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk

This day marks the most arduous yet the most pious day of our journey. We will have to start out early as we will pass through Dolma-La Pass which is known for its fickle weather. On the way we also offer our prayers to Gaurikund. By late afternoon, we will reach Zuthal Puk i.e. the cave of miracles.

Zhulthul Puk to Horquo Trek

On this day we will make our return trip from Zhulthul Puk to Horquo. Overnight stay at Horquo.

Horquo-Dongba Drive

A scenic drive from Horquo to Dongba awaits us today. Overnight stay at Dongba.

Dongba-Nyalam Drive

Last part of of our stay in Tibet, we will return from Dongba to Nyalam. Overnight stay at Nyalam.

Nyalam-Kathmandu Drive

On this day, we will drive from Nyalam to Kathmandu, where on the way  we have to complete some border formalities. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Final Departure

You will be taken from your hotel to the airport as per your schedule. You will reach the airport 2 hours prior to your flight. Finally we return to Kathmandu for a farewell dinner.
