Valley Rim Mountain Biking tour is the perfect option for those who love to explore hidden beauties of Kathmandu Valley. It specifies the beautiful hills residents by alpine forest, traditional Nepalese villages, hidden temples and natural surroundings. Kathmandu Airport Arrival (1345 meters).
Overnight at Kakani
We will meet shortly after an early morning breakfast at Hotel. We prepare our gear and backpack and then ride off to Kakani. We head through the clamoring back streets of Thamel and on to great wide undulating jeep tracks close by the Nagarjuna forest.
Your efforts are rewarded by breathtaking mountain sceneries. On the way, we taste the delicious trout fish cultivated locally – which gives the route the name “Trout Highway.” We bike uphill to Kakani, which is at 2,100m rise. Once we reach our destination, we enjoy the dazzling views of Ganesh and Langtang mountains and the valley of Likhu Khola 1,000m underneath.
Kakani to Budhanilakantha (1630m)
Head off on a best amongst other single tracks in the valley down towards the Budhanilkantha Temple (Sleeping Vishnu), going through the Shivapuri National Park. Budhanilkantha is an astounding fifth-century statue of the Lord Vishnu, leaning back on the loop of high ruler winds amidst little lake.
Your efforts are rewarding by breathtaking panoramic mountain views of Langtang and Ganes Himal in transit. Ride from Budhanilakantha to Nagarkot (2175m)
Today we take off towards Boudhanath, the biggest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. Following the landing area past Boudhanath, we take in clearer views of Kathmandu. We proceed on the ride to the Sankhu village, and we stop here for lunch and explore this old town.
From here we bike along a jeep track street to wind our way up with a two-hour climb to Nagarkot – one of most known hill stations of the country. The views of the mountain range from Nagarkot, particularly from the Tower, more than repay this strenuous rising. On a sunny morning, even Mt. Everest can be seen! We stay in Nagarkot at a guesthouse from where we can enjoy the sunrise.
Rest day at Nagarkot
The temple complex incorporates one of the eldest Hindu temples in the Kathmandu valley and has complicated statues and stone tablets portraying ancient Hindu legends. From here you can also enjoy great views of the valley and encompassing slopes. Overnight at a hotel.
Ride from Nagarkot to Palanchowk (820m)
We will head down the hill on a blend of single and jeep tracks. We plummet through terraced paddy fields and little cultivating villages. We turned off to Palanchowk and climbed 9km on a cleared street.
You’ll visit the Bhagawati Temple, which houses a standout amongst the most delightful and venerated Bagawati goddess’ pictures in Nepal.
The dazzling image is carved of dark stone and adorned with gems. From your hill vantage point, you’ll have a fantastic view of the Himalaya and the encompassing valleys.
Ride from Palanchok to Dhulikhel (1600m)
Following an incredible night at Palanchowk, we begin the day with an off-road plummet. This trail extends technical however there is a simpler choice further west, which merges with a similar trail. We cross the primary street and proceed 20km uphill to Dhulikhel and our lodging for the night.
We eat here, and for the those who haven’t had enough rides, there is a time in the afternoon to explore the nearby trails or the very much saved town.
Ride from Dhulikhel to Balthali (1145m)

Ride from Lakure to Kathmandu (1345) via Patan Durbar Square
We spend our energy exploring some exciting trails close to the Godavari then onto astounding off-road trails near Kathmandu, a charming conclusion to our exciting biking session! In transit, we will visit the Patan Durbar Square, which is a fascinating blend of royal residence buildings, artistic yards, and graceful pagodas.
The former royal residence complex is the focal point of Patan’s religious and social life and houses a historical center containing a variety of bronze statues and religious articles. One exceptional landmark here is the seventeenth-century temple devoted to the Hindu god Krishna, assembled altogether of stone.
